Dr. Alexander enjoys helping people through sharing her love of medicine and animals. Dr. Alexander grew up in Devine, TX and graduated in 1993 from Texas A&M with a Bachelor's Degree in Animal Science. After graduation, she worked in the marketing department for the San Antonio Livestock & Rodeo. Dr. Alexander returned to Texas A&M and received her secondary teaching certificate. She taught 8th grade science at Spring Branch Middle School in Houston. After three years of teaching, her love of animals and fascination with medicine could not be denied. Her journey continued from teaching to becoming a veterinary receptionist, then a technician, which served as great training for her lifelong career choice as a veterinarian.

She graduated from Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine in 2005 and practiced in a small animal/equine veterinary hospital in Fayetteville, NC. Like all true Texans, Dr. Alexander found her way back to Texas in 2006 and has not left since.  

In her spare time, Dr. Alexander and her husband, Jay, enjoy wade fishing and spending time at the coast. She also enjoys photography, cooking, and gardening.  They have several dogs: "Rose" - a heeler mix rescue, "Patron" and "O.E." - both Catahoulas.
